At DragoRossi, our approach to design is at the very core of what makes our kayaks great. DragoRossi designer, Corran Addison, has been responsible for designing some of the worlds best selling kayaks, and is also credited with having propagating some of the most influential breakthroughs in modern kayak design. A three-time world medalist, and Olympian, Corranʼs years of paddling and design experience are very nearly more than the total number of years of all other designers combined.

While the fashion today is to churn out kayak designs on a computer, Corran prefers to do it the way master craftsmen in the surf Industry do it - hand shaping the original forms out of foam. His designs are based on long experience and “feel”, combined with careful consideration of the exact performance wanted from each boat. As any surfboard shaper (like Corran) will tell you, there is no mathematical substitute for caressing the rail with your hands, looking at the template and rocker from every angle, close and far, “seeing” the water flow across the hull, and just “knowing” itʼs right. Squinting at computer screens is great for updating last yearʼs designs, but it just will not work when creating the level of artistry of a DragoRossi boat.
